Abstract

Mastery of basic astronomy is essential in the Natural Sciences curriculum, but students often struggle due to limited access to interactive learning tools. To address this, a training program on the Stellarium application was conducted at MAN 1 Kerinci, targeting science-track students. Using a participatory approach, the program included live demonstrations, celestial simulations, and interactive discussions. The training aimed to enhance students’ understanding and interest in astronomy through hands-on experience. Results showed increased engagement and comprehension, as students provided positive feedback and demonstrated the ability to use Stellarium independently. These findings highlight the effectiveness of digital tools like Stellarium in supporting science education at the secondary school level. In conclusion, the program significantly improved students’ astronomy literacy and technology literacy and offers a replicable model for similar initiatives in other schools.
