Pelatihan Pengembangan Komoditas Kayu Putih Kelompok Penyuling Minyak Kayu Putih untuk Peningkatan Ekonomi di Dusun Taman Jaya

Abstract

This community service program was implemented in Taman Jaya Village, West Seram Regency, Maluku, which has abundant potential for cajuput trees (Melaleuca cajuputi) but has not been optimally utilized. Limited technology, knowledge of production techniques, and agribusiness management are the main obstacles for the community in developing this potential. This program aims to increase the capacity of distiller groups in distillation technology, improve the quality and quantity of production, and develop cajuput oil agribusiness. The implementation method includes preparation stages (needs identification and data collection), implementation (training and technology application), as well as monitoring and evaluation. The program results show successful implementation of basic distillation training and application of new technology that impacts the improvement of production quality and quantity. There was a significant increase in production capacity with more consistent oil quality, as well as better branding development. This program also successfully created group independence in managing the distillation and marketing processes, which contributes to improving the community's economic welfare through cajuput oil product sales.
