Waste management has become an increasingly urgent environmental issue, particularly in urban and rural areas lacking adequate waste management facilities. One alternative solution to address this problem is the use of natural materials, such as bamboo, for making waste bins. Bamboo is an environmentally friendly, renewable material with good mechanical strength, making it a practical and economical solution for waste bin production. This community service program aims to introduce and engage the community in the production of bamboo waste bins as an alternative solution for more eco-friendly household waste management. The activities include training the community on techniques for making bamboo waste bins, covering the selection of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and bamboo preservation techniques to enhance durability. The outcomes of this program are expected to raise public awareness of responsible waste management and provide a more sustainable alternative material. In addition, bamboo waste bin production offers added economic value for the local community by utilizing natural resources available in their surroundings. This program successfully increased community understanding of environmental sustainability and contributed to reducing the use of environmentally harmful plastics.
