Public ignorance about electricity can lead to the risk of disasters, such as electric shock and fire. The high potential for electrical disasters in building can stem from the selection of electrical equipment that does not comply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), installations older than 20 years, human error, and flammable building materials. Public ignorance about how to treat electricity correctly is one of the human error factors causing disasters. This community service activities was divided into 2 agendas: socialization activity on the prevention of electrical installation fires at SMP Negeri 1 Rembang, and introduction about electrical measurement practices at SMA Negeri 1 Rembang, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java. Based on the the pre-test and post-test results in both activities, there was an increase in participants' knowledge related to the basics of electricity, so it’s hoped that this knowledge can be disseminated to a wider community level in their environments.
