Peningkatan Kapasitas Masyarakat Melalui Pelatihan Pembangunan Gapura Di Sungai Ambang RW 03
Abstract
Community service is an integral part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education aimed at enhancing community capacity and self-reliance. This program was conducted in RW 03, Sungai Ambang Village, with the objective of improving community capacity through a training and mentoring program on gate construction as a medium for environmental learning and local identity. The implementation methods included socialization, technical training, hands-on practice, and participatory mentoring. Evaluation was carried out through observation, interviews, and comparisons of conditions before and after the activity. The results showed that 90% of residents actively participated in all stages of the program, while 80% of participants experienced an improvement in basic technical skills, particularly in simple welding and painting. In addition, 85% of residents stated that the neighborhood became easier to recognize and had a stronger visual identity. This program provided benefits in the form of enhanced technical capacity, strengthened community participation, and the establishment of a commitment to sustainable environmental management, with gate construction positioned as a learning medium and supporting output rather than the main physical objective of the activity.
