Pemberdayaan Ibu Rumah Tangga Melalui Pelatihan Olahan Pepaya Di Desa Ganesha Mukhti Kecamatan Muara Sugihan Kabupaten Banyuasin Sumsel

Abstract

The interests of the village community are based on community initiatives, original rights, and/or traditional rights that are recognized and respected in the government system of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Entrepreneurial Village is a self-sufficient village which is the ultimate goal of the village entrepreneurship program with the main characteristics of its economic activities driven by knowledge and creativity as well as new ways of production. Ganesha Mukthi Village is one of the villages in Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency which is now a center for California papaya fruit. If the harvest season is in full swing, the supply will be abundant exceeding market demand, resulting in falling prices, while its use other than for direct consumption does not yet exist. Added to this is the lack of diversification of food products from papaya because farmers only sell papaya in fresh and ready-to-eat form. This will be detrimental to farmers, even though if this papaya can be made into processed products, such as made into dodol, jam, sauce, crisps, pickles or sweets, the economic value will be different. Therefore, the community service team from Lancang Kuning University conducted community service activities to extend the shelf life and can be used as a diversification of papaya processed products so as to improve the welfare of papaya farmers. The processed papaya products in this activity are making dodol, jam, sauce, crispy, pickled, and candied papaya. The increase in knowledge of papaya land processing in Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra is 100%.
