Abstract

This Community Service Program  aims to enhance preventive health awareness and improve cooperative and MSME management literacy in Matawai Pawali Village, Waingapu. The village has local economic potential but still faces limitations in public health awareness and business management practices. The program was implemented through collaboration among Sumba Medika, Sumba Volunteer, and the Institut Bisnis Nusantara, involving approximately 100 participants from the local community, cooperative administrators, and MSME actors. The implementation methods included preventive health education and free medical services, literacy training on cooperative and MSME management, assistance in simple financial record-keeping, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The indicators measured covered participants’ understanding of financial record-keeping, separation of business and personal finances, and profit–loss calculation. The results show an improvement in participants’ awareness of preventive health, enhanced accountability in cooperative management, and increased capacity of MSME actors to conduct basic financial record-keeping. These findings indicate that an integrated approach combining health and local economic empowerment is effective and can be replicated in other villages with similar characteristics.
